9/11: The 25 Most Powerful Photos - Photo Gallery - LIFE

Increíble foto esta. Esto es lo que dicen en la revista Life de ella:

This startling photograph of the south tower’s collapse by renowned photojournalist James Nachtwey is so immediate, so capable of placing the viewer there, in the midst of horrendous violence, that it’s hard to conceive that there’s a human being behind the camera, taking the picture — and making it out of the havoc alive. But beyond its purely visceral impact, there is another element of the image that commands awe: namely, the construction of the shot itself. The myriad hard angles and straight lines of the buildings and their windows, the church’s roofline and its weatherbeaten cross — all of these rigid visual markers only serve to accentuate the explosive, anarchic violence of the tower’s collapse. And then there’s the cross itself: Was this, symbolically at least, what was really under attack that day? None but a fearless photographer would stand where Nachtwey was standing to get this shot; none but a great one would emerge with so perfect a picture.
